Sitting in the office straddling two cardboard boxes trying to tape them together. My 55 lb bag is hidden within the boxes and is getting all prepared for the ride home. That's when it hit me, I leave Santa Barbara on Tuesday. How can this be possible? I have learned so much and yet I know there is so much more out there to learn. What a crazy week it has been; trying to get plans together for going home, doing random jobs for everyone, getting to see a familiar face. It was all just so strange.

Rule #1:

Never be sorry for anything you create artistically. Be proud of your work, explain your ideas and if people don't like it ask them why, learn from them; if they make a good point. If they say something stupid, well screw them!

So this morning I was sitting in the kitchen making smoothies with my roommate Joey. When it hit me, I have been here for an entire month. This may not seem like that long for most people, but this is my first time on my own so this is huge. It feels like just yesterday I was stepping off the train. What an amazing month it has been too. In just a month I have gone from organizing fabrics to having my own design sent of to India to have a proto made.

Such an interesting week; saying goodbye to the old and starting the new. This week I moved into my new house with my coworkers and it truly is amazing. Rock band, my own nice room, amazing room mates. It is so much more than I could ask for.

My feet sink into the sand as I look out at the smoke billowing over the mountain. In one night the fire spread from 2400 acres to over 5600 and continues to grow. A few of my employees have even been evacuated and the power continues to go on and off throughout the city.
