So this morning I was sitting in the kitchen making smoothies with my roommate Joey. When it hit me, I have been here for an entire month. This may not seem like that long for most people, but this is my first time on my own so this is huge. It feels like just yesterday I was stepping off the train. What an amazing month it has been too. In just a month I have gone from organizing fabrics to having my own design sent of to India to have a proto made.
Work is still amazing, this week I continued to go through clothes organizing them. I also had to put together a spec package though. Over the last week I did a sketch of a dress design, and then other sketch, and one more until it was perfect. After the sketches I had to put it all into a spec package on the computer. For those of you that don't know what a spec package is, it is quite simple. It is a bunch of different papers saying what fabrics, colors, trims and well basically everything that you want your design to have. You must put in every detail possible and have pictures for them to look at. Putting together this package was very interesting and kind of difficult. It was all worth it though, because now my design is off to India were a proto will be produced and shipped back to me. I can not wait it is all so exciting.
Work is not the only thing keeping me busy though. My roommate Joey was having a sample sale this weekend and so I decided to help him with that. It was a good taste of actually selling the clothing. It was very fun, but tiring, and of course I know have way too many clothes to pack up and bring home. My roommates and I also went to the grass games, a bbq pizza night, and the new Batman. It was a very exciting weekend and it makes me love being in this new house.
Speaking of the house situation, I went and visited my old host family. It was very interesting going back up to the house and hanging out with them. It made me realize that moving into the new house was the best idea i've had here. Jen and Craig are great and without them I wouldn't be here, but the new house (Casa de Cota) is too amazing to pass up.
This next week should be an interesting one seeing as my boss is out of town, but it should be fun and i'm sure that I will stay busy.
