The life of a Costa Rican (TIco) is so relaxed. i can go day to day and not worry about plans or time or any thing of the sort. The only bummer about working at the school is we were told we have to wear pants below our knees and shirts with sleeves. Concidering that i did not pack but one pair of jeans I had to go into town and buy another pair. I was so surprised that clothes here are just as expensive as clothes in the states.

Hannah and i went out to eat for the first time since being here. It was great. The plate was so colorful with all the different veggies. If i get to eat like this the whole time i'm here. WOW i'll never go home! However even in the resturaunts they serve rice and beans. Good thing i like rice and beans.

This week i was introduced to the Synthetica, and synthetic soccer feild about a quarter mile from my house. At night teams come together and play a couple games. Watching just makes me want to play! but here in Costa Rica the girls don't play, they just enjoy watching.

Everyday i am so exhausted. To think in spanish all the time and doing physical labor just make my body so tired at the end of the day. But this week I started spanish classes. Our teacher Isoura is a very clear speaker, which makes class easier. I have noticed with class that my French really helps with verbs and sentence structure. I have noticed that since taking these spanish classes i have been able to communicate with my host mother more. Being able to speak a little is making me more and more comfortable being here.

This week seemed to fly by. Friday we rebuilt a garden by the first and second grade class rooms. This has been my favorite project so far. We dug up these huge roots that were soaking up all the water so the flowers were not getting enough nutrition. Also we dug a trench above the garden so when the rain comes it wont flood down to the classrooms. It was great to be able to help out the teachers. They were very appreciative.

Saturday Hannah and i went on a hike to Cerro Amigos wich is the highest point in Monteverde. These 4 dogs followed us all the way from town to the top of this mountain and back down. Although this hike was nothing like hikes around Ouray and Telluride. it was really just a very steep muddy road. We weren't even sure if we were in the right place. We imagine the view would have been beautiful but they colouds covered everything and we couldn't really see anything beyond where we were.

That night Florr, my host mother, took me to a family reunion. It's wasn't really a reunion because the whole familiy lives in Monteverde, but it was great to meet the entire family. Although i was quite exhausted from our hike earlier, it was a trip to watch Florr's family interact. They love to gossip and get the latest news.

I am getting so used to life here. It's becoming so natural to get around. I am going to make sure to use my days to the fullest tho. Although i'm tired most of the day, i can't waist a second here because there is so much to see an experience i don't want to leave without doing it all!
