I’ve made it. Bloody right! I lucked out big time as far as the boat ride goes—I caught a CICRA
boat and there were only three passengers on it! We were bringing a bunch of food over from Labrinto so I just sat among a bunch of coolers and boxes on the floor. To my left sat mi amigo nuevo ‘Marcos’. We leaned against some boxes and rested our knees on some more. It was “snug” you might say, but we had a big cushion to rest upon! That was cool! I shared my grapes with him and we talked a bit. His laugh sounds a lot like Kyle’s. The boat ride was five hours long…not too shabby considering I thought I was in for ten hours of squawking chickens and a bunch of drunken folk! Right now I’m in my cabana—a temporary room I believe—and I’m wondering what the hell Ima do here for a month! It’s quiet. It’s dark. It appears to be dead. I’m hoping to meet a bunch of people at dinner so I can offer a helping hand, and ask where the computers are so I can shoot Ma an e-mail. I don’t know how I’ll know it’s dinner time, we shall see. Right now I’m hesitant to go outside for fear of getting attacked by those obnoxious blood-sucking mosquitoes. Boy, do they suck. I’ll write later after a few more occurrences have occurred. What will go down in my time here at CICRA? What will I see? Who will I befriend? What will I realize? We shall see.
